Four more strings!

I've recently added to my musical repertoire with the purchase of a ukulele. Fascinating instrument, the uke. In Britain, it's most often associated with the WWII musician and music hall performer George Formby, however in recent years the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain have given the instrument a modern twist, with their interpretations of pop songs, Wuthering Heights being one of my favourites. Website

I've been playing for about a week, and I've picked it up fairly quickly, I can play about 8 chords, and am learning a few songs.

A number of us at Kirby Muxloe Free Church are fans of the Rend Collective Experiment Link
We enjoy playing their music, and some of their songs lend themselves well to the uke. Anyway, it's good to have another string (or 4) to my bow.

  1. technically george formby played a banjulele not a ukele ;) also - can you pleeeease bring it in on sunday :)

  2. I cannot find any hymn lyrics to fit the tune of Scarborough Fair, but I am still working on it!

  3. If all else fails Angela, I'll have to write some :-)
