A Pause In Lent (2)

At church this morning, we were invited to write "temptations" onto stones - things that can tempt us away from following Jesus.

The youngsters wrote things like "bullying" "snatching" etc, whist others wrote things like "being too busy, squeezing God out".

These stones were placed at the foot of the cross - symbolising us not carrying these around with us, but handing them over to God.

During Lent, we remember Jesus being tempted by the devil at the end of his 40 day fast, and how He held onto God's word, and didn't give in.

Pray that we can do the same.

  2. Simple and to the point and infinitely memorable!! I wish I was so concise!!! We had a similar sermon last week- it was on the temptation of Jesus and I was going to post about it but I couldn't find where I wrote down notes! Thank you so much for this!x
