Faith in action - feeding the hungry

Allied to my recent participation in End Hunger Fast (blogs passim), I asked the congregation at Kirby Muxloe Free Church (my home church) to bring in food items that we could donate to one of our local foodbanks.

Everyone responded wonderfully, we have a sizeable collection to donate:

I am really pleased that I've been able to inspire people to give in this way, I know that these items will be gratefully received, and they will go to feed people who are most in need of help.

"Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." - James Ch 2 V 15-17

  1. Now you have got me wondering which church member is standing there by the collection [I suspect PW]

  2. This is wonderful! I organised Harvest donations last year for the Food Bank at school but didn't do it this year, wish I had done, just got too busy and then didn't know the date of our harvest celebration x
