Review of the Art of Celebration - Rend Collective

I recently purchased The Art Of Celebration, the latest album from Rend Coll1111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111ollective (they seem to have dropped the “Experiment”).

Made in their typical experimental folk rock style, the album contains 13 tracks, including the single “My Lighthouse”, which has received much airplay on UCB.

The rest of the album goes through a whole range of emotions, from the stomping praise anthem “More Than Conquerors” through the quieter, more reflective “All That I Am”, whilst “Immeasurably More” looks forward to God making Himself known to us.

The only weak song for me is “Simplicity” – a bit too much of a “Jesus is my girlfriend” song for my tastes.

The band’s love for God and the sincerity of their worship exude from the music, and whilst the musical style is not altogether different from some of their previous work, it’s a style that works, and a style that enables the band to give of their best.

Overall, another great album from a great band.
