Album review - Evening:Morning - The Digital Age

I heard The Digital Age described as "sounding like Rend Collective on very strong coffee" - now, I like Rend Collective, and I like very strong coffee, so I had to check it out.

The opening track - Captured - is certainly similar to Rend's sound, but there's more to this four piece from Waco, Texas than just a Rend Collective sound-alike.

I'm a bit late to this album, it was released last August, and made number 3 on the US Christian chart.

As I say, this band has a varied sound, ranging from the rock of "Symphony of Grace", to a more electronic sound on "Glow", and whilst "Break Every Chain is a piano topped-and-tailed power ballad, there's an ethereal sound to "Always You"

A few songs reminded me of Pink Floyd - I'm a huge Floyd fan, so that's just fine by me.

The lyrics are simple and heartfelt, the whole album being a hymn of praise.
