We didn't visit the house itself, but had a nice walk round the grounds:
View across the lake
Mountains in the distance
Rose garden - the scent of roses was wonderful
Arboretum with mountains beyond
Another view of the lake
And another one...
The house itself was originally built for Henry Arthur Herbert and his wife, the water-colourist Mary Balfour Herbert, however it is now in the hands of Killarney National Park.
I've got plenty more to tell about my holiday - think of it as an extended version of the "what I did on my holidays" essay we all did at the beginning of each school year :-)
