Sunday devotion - Matthew Ch 7 v 24-25

24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.

We all need firm foundations - if we build our lives on Jesus's words, our lives will have those firm foundations.

Of course, foundations are merely the starting point for a building - every part of the building has to be done properly, or the building will not stand.  As we build our lives on Jesus's words, we need to put those words into practise in our daily lives.

It's not easy, and everybody falls from time to time, but we know we follow a forgiving God, and as long as we keep our feet firmly planted on the rock, He will provide foundations for our lives.

Be blessed.

  1. I went to a service at the Methodist church near me as I woke up too late for my own church and the sermon of the priest had it spot on. And he talked about the house groups studying a book to be more Christ-like, he showed us the first pages of the course and it seemed like it really broke it down into the foundations like you say.
