We held a visioning day at KMFC on Saturday - spending time together looking to the future and looking at how we move forward as a church as we look to start the process of calling a new minister.
It was a good day - we spent some time looking at the past of our church, then went on to perform a "SWOT" analysis of our church (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats). We identified some things that we could do better, and some opportunities we have around developing our activities.
Later in the afternoon, we thought about our dreams for the future, and looking at the qualities we want in our next minister. It was good to see so much agreement between us all on the various things throughout the day.
To close the day, Diane Tidball, who was leading the day took us through the practicalities of the process of appointing a minister.
Everybody I spoke to said how good the day was, and it's given us all a good idea of what we need to do for the future.
I pray that the deacons will be able to use the ideas and suggestions we came up with to be able to discern what God has planned for KMFC in the future.
