The fifth Sunday in Lent is often known as Passion Sunday, which marks the beginning of Passiontide.
Passiontide is the period of Lent that commemorates the increasing revelation of Christ's divinity and his movement towards Jerusalem.
The word "passion" has changed its meaning down the years, passion now meaning amongst other things:
a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything:
"a passion for music."
God has a real passion for us, which we remember as we head towards Easter - commemorating his sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
Let's have a passion for God during these next two weeks as we remember both Him sacrificing His son, and Christ sacrificing himself on the cross.
